What is a safari?

Safari is the Swahili word for travel. During your safari with… you make game drives through the most beautiful wild parks and will enjoy the most beautifully sceneries and animals.

 

Day 1: Arusha – Lake Manyara National Park
Pick up from Arusha city and depart for Lake Manyara National Park via Mto-wa mbu Village with picnic lunch for full day game drive in Lake Manyara National Park, which packs a lot of diversity into a small area, is the only park in the area that is green all year round. The park also offers a spectacular view of the Great Rift Valley and the fig forest here is a good place to see monkeys and some of the 350 species of birds that have been recorded here. With luck, you may spot the tree climbing lions for which the park is famous.

 Dinner and overnight Camping/Lodge.

After breakfast you head towards the Serengeti National Park, via the beautiful high lying farmland of Karatu and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Leaving the highlands behind, we descend into the heart of wild Africa – the Serengeti National Park – with its endless plains, rolling into the distance as far as the eye can see. You head to the central park area, known as the Seronera area, one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park, featuring the Seronera River, which provides a valuable water source to this area and therefore attracts wildlife well representative of most of the Serengeti’s species. You arrive in time for lunch and enjoy an afternoon game drive in the Serengeti National Park.

Day 3:Serengeti – Northern Serengeti (Wagakuria area)

 

After breakfast, enjoy a full day game drive in the Serengeti National Park. The wildebeest migration normally pass through the area in April & June, however the Seronera area is within reach of both the southern plains and the Western Corridor. The wildebeest migration can normally be found in the Western Corridor area in June, depending on rainfall patterns. The resident game in the area is phenomenal and species such as elephant, buffalo, gazelle, zebra, lion and a variety of other predators and herbivores can be seen here all year round. Explore the range of different habitats that include swamps, woodland, soda lakes and the world famous Serengeti short grass plains. See great herds of wildebeest and zebra. During a short time frame around February, normally lasting for about 3 weeks, the majority of the wildebeest calve. The sea of grass provides little cover and the young are easy pickings for a variety of predators. Wildebeest calves can run minutes after they are born and within 3 days they are normally strong enough to keep up with the herd.

Day 4: Serengeti Northern – Ngorongoro Crater
after breakfast at the lodge do you depart to Ngorongoro Conservation area. You will stopover at Olduvai Gorge, boasting with a history dating back to the dawn of time. It was here, that the anthropologists Drs. Lois and Mary Leakey discovered the skulls of the ’Nutcracker Man’ and ‘Handy Man’, both very significant links in the chain of human evolution. You arrive in time for lunch at the lodge and spend the afternoon at leisure. Dinner and overnight on the crater rim at Camping/Lodge. .

Day5:Crater – Lake Eyasi 


Early in the morning after breakfast, cross Great Rift Valley and keep on pushing to the slopes of Ngorongoro highlands and onto Lake Eyasi, home to last remnant of bushman in Tanzania. You will spent most of the day here with local guide visiting a number of simple make shift homestead. Spend few hours on Lake Eyasi while enjoying well packed picnic lunch. In the evening you will have dinner and overnight at 
 Camping/Lodge.

 Days 6: Hadzabe – Tarangire 


In the morning before dawn you will be awaken by your local guide ready for hunting safari. You will be searching for an animal for hunting using local weapons. (Remember this isn’t inside the national parks it is outside the parks). In the morning you will be back for breakfast and preparation of barbeque. You will share the meal with the Hadzabe who inhabit the region. Hadzabe are among the fewer tribes in the world which really practice the bush life as well as primitive communalism way of life. You will have more time to interact with them and learn their daily activities. You will walk along the Lake Eyasi which consists of numerous numbers of birdlife. In the afternoon after lunch you will be driving to Arusha where the tour will end.
